 Lens Flare-
1.
http://www.lightstalking.com/lens-flare

22. I read about lens flare, what it is and its history. I looked at many photos that were taken with the lens flare effect.

33. I learned that lens flare was avoided by photographers back then, because it ruined the pictures according to them. I learned that lens flare is basically light scattered from the lens due to unplanned reflection and lens impurities. Now photographers actually use it to make pictures look cool and creative with the lens flare effect.

44.  This is my favorite picture for this website..

54.
a. I picked this photo because I like how the light looks, and the flare makes it look really creative.
b. In this picture I think that a low ISO was used. The aperture size was probably high.
c. A photographer named Rob.

NYC by bike
1.
http://blog.tomolesnevich.com/personal-projects/#automotive-portraits

22. On this website there was not much to read about. There was so many pictures to look at though. I went through a lot of the photographer's gallery's.

44. this was my favorite..
54.
a. I picked this photo because of the background.
b. Shutter speed.
c. Tom Olesnevich.

97.
a. On the website I looked at many pictures. All the pictures were taken to focus on one main subject which was the speed of the bike.
b. The website didn't really explain the pictures, but I could see that all of them were taken in a slow shutter speed because there was a lot of movement.
c. This website is related to photography because all the pictures in it have a main subject, rules of photography and were taken at good angles.

B&W Landscapes
1.
http://digital-photography-school.com/27-black-and-white-landscape-images

22. I looked at all the beautiful black and white landscapes. Black and white photographs are my favorite.

33. Well when you think of landscapes you think of all the color for example the green on a mountain or the blue of the sea. I never thought landscapes would actually look good in black and white. Whenever I take pictures of nature I never use the black and white filters on Instagram but now looking at these pictures they actually look really good! So I guess I learned that landscapes really look as creative in b&w than in normal color.

44. my favorite..

54.
a. I picked this one because the background looks foggy.
b. I see a ISO, shutter speed and a low aperture.
c. Darren Rowse.

Storms
1.
http://www.lightstalking.com/storms

22. I looked at the storms pictures. I read about them and about how to take them.

33. I learned that storm pictures are really popular in taking by many photographers. They are really interesting to look at. I learned that if you take storm pictures well you obviously need to be safe you also have to stabilize your camera. When taking a storm picture taking a camara coat and a lens cloth is needed.

4. favorite..

5.
a. I picked this photo because it was taken high up in the clouds and it looks really cool!
b. most of the rules of photography.
c. Kevin Dooley.

Astonishing Images 2012
1. http://gizmodo.com/5969018/the-100-most-astonishing-images-of-2012

2. I checked out many of the most astonishing pictures taken in 2012. They were all very unique and eye catching.

3. Well by looking at these interesting images I learned about what kind of pictures to take. I think now that when you see something crazy, unique or something that automatically catches your eye, you should take a picture of it. I also noticed that in those pictures the angles they were taken made the pictures even more cool looking.

4. my favorite one. So unique!

5.
a. Okay, I picked this picture because well the picture says it all. Ive never seen a picture taken like this. It is really unique and different. By looking at this picture, my eyes get dizzy because Ive never seen a kitchen from the top ceiling view. All the other photos on that website were amazing, but this one caught my eye asap.

b. I see most of the rules of photography.
c. did not say but whoever did has a unique eye. :)

Magazines Part 2

1. Early Magazine Covers:
Early magazine covers really don't look like covers from today. They don't look like covers at all actually. The cover was usually used for the title and table of contents. Sometimes the covers were set up like book covers. They didn't really have words explaining what the magazine would be about and only contained publication information. Most of them had small pictures as well. Later in the years the Early Magazine Covers, were improved and set up a little differently.

2. The Poster Cover:
The poster covers were obviously poster like, over sized posters. Famous illustrators work was printed on the cover and sometimes inside the magazine as well. Sometimes the pictures that were on the cover really didn't relate to what the magazine was about. At first, cover lines were not used frequently, but later in the years, cover lines became an important part of cover design.

3. Pictures Married To Type:
As the years went on cover lines were becoming common and useful with all magazines. A couple improvements were made though and new styles were discovered. A large title started to be used and sometimes the model would overlap part of the title. Models were used more too, nearly full body pose. The number of cover lines started to increase on the cover. The cover lines mostly are about the people who contributed on making the cover/ magazine. A description was not yet used until about the 1960's. The cover also included the name of the month.

4. In the Forest of Words:
Going into the 21'st century, cover lines were important just as cover art was. Cover lines even started to be larger than the magazines name itself. Poster covers/ magazines with no cover lines or just a few have become hard to find. The cover lines even overlapped the model or portrait that was on the cover. Over the years the number of cover lines on a cover have increased to inform the buyer on what the magazine will be about.

W, Sept. 2011: "The Fashion Issue"
(Photograph by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott)
For W's biggest fashion issue of the year, the magazine celebrated the ways women today transform themselves by showcasing actress Kristen Stewart as readers had never seen her before. Photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot transformed the 21-year-old cover model from the Twilight teenager that audiences know best into the glamorous, grown-up vixen she's becoming. "Vampires are a little dangerous—and we girls like to test ourselves," Stewart says playfully on the cover, tempting readers to pick up the issue and see for themselves.

I choose this fashion cover as my favorite. I really like the way fashion magazines make there covers and the portraits they use. To me the portraits are beautiful and unique like this one. They catch my attention which is good. Its mostly the face of the model and shows all her features like her eyes, lips and eyebrows. For my self portrait or portrait I would like to take a picture like this one. The light and exposure are really good on this portrait. I guess you can say this portrait is formal or informal since its more fashion-y. In my opinion this would have been the magazine cover of the year 2012.
