Photojournalism plan
For my Photojournalism project I want to shoot pictures of events like the following:
School events |
Concerts |
Weddings |
3. Get up close and personal
4. you have to swim up stream if the crowd is moving, or wade into the crowd and then turn around if the the crowd is stationary.
5. A photo essay is very simply a collection of images that are placed in a specific order to tell the progression of events, emotions, and concepts
6. First you have to find and event, after you found an event do research of the event. Then find another point of view of the event. Then make the event really emotional. After all of that plan everything your goin to do.
7. I will take pictures at the upcoming Choir concert on 05/14/15

HDR Photography Review
1. HDR or High Dynamic Range
2. An HDR photo allows for a wider and deeper range of color which makes an image appear much closer to what the human eye sees
3. Bracketing is when sever shots of the same subject are taken using different exposures
4. Photoshop
5. cropping too much of a layer

I really like this family photo because its unique, the way the family is NOT posed makes this picture an eye catcher and interesting. I also like the lighting and the way it is black and white. |

Canon 6D vs. T3i
1. Full frame camera in general, has a better image quality across the board and Crop sensor is for capturing less. For example if your shooting pictures of landscapes, a full frame sensor would be way better.
2. 5 advantages to the 6D:

Fill light- used to lighten shadows and control contrast
Key light (main light)- Key light determines the character of the lighting
Hair light- light placed facing the top of the head
Background light- Reveals the character of the background and helps separate it from the subject
Shadowless-
Hard light- a small focusable source used with or without a lens that produces strong highlights and/or shadows
Soft light- Diffused, Bounced, indirect light
Grey card- A Matte 18% reflectance card used instead of a subject for a Reflected Light Meter reading. Tips: Exposure corrections for unusually light or dark subjects are the same as for an ILM - not an RLM. Angle the card for typical but glare-free light. See: 18% Assumption*
Reflector- reflects light from subject
Diffuser- A Translucent material placed in front of a Light to soften Highlights and Shadows, reduce Contrast and increase Beam Angle.
Intensity -he "strength" of the Incident Light independent of subject reflectivity, commonly measured in Foot Candles or Lux. High levels allow for increased Depth of Field (not always desirable) or faster shutter speeds (stills or high-speed filming).
- Direction: Where is the light coming from—the front, the side, or behind?
- Intensity: How bright is each light source?
- Color: What color is the light—white, red, blue…?
- Contrast: Is the transition from the highlights to the shadows subtle or sudden?
- Hardness: What do the edges of the shadows look like?

Flash facts
Every flash photograph is two exposures in one
- ambient light exposure
- flash exposure
Fill flash can be used when subject is backlit or side lit to eliminate silhouettes or shadows
Flash exposure is not affected by shutter speed
Flash illumination is dramatically affected by distance
Your camera measures ambient light and flash illumination separately
With automatic flash metering, the flash illumination is measured after the shutter button is pressed and the flash output is adjusted accordingly
Every SLR camera with a mechanical shutter box has a maximum flash sync shutter speed
Harsh lighting, washed out subjects and red eye can be eliminated by using diffusers and light bouncing
It is possible to change the order of when the flash fires using "Rear Curtain Sync"
Removing flash from the top of the camera helps eliminate red eye and unflattering shadows
