Front Pages of the World
1. My favorite news paper front page was the San Antonio Express News. I liked it because of the way it's layed out. I liked how the main storys' picture is the first thing you see, it is really big too.
2. "FBI gives bomb suspects faces" was my favorite headline, it caught my attention. I think it would catch anyones attention because it's about the Bombing in Boston and how they might of found who set off the bombs!
3. About 5 stories.
4. They all have a main story which is bigger than the others. I think most have some ads on them.
5. They have different layouts but not all that different. The fonts are different.

Lenses and Photography Vocab.
I would use a telephoto lens to shoot pictures of objects that are far away. For example, I would use a telephoto lens If I wanted shots of the animals at the zoo. You can't get really close to them so a telephoto lens would be perfect to get zoomed in great shots.
I would use a prime lens to take pictures of close objects since a prime lens cannot zoom. Maybe, I would use a prime lens to take shots of a sunset since it is a bit dark.
I would use a wide-angle lens to take a photograph of something that I wanted to get the whole shot of. I would use a wide-angle lens if I wanted to make everything come out in the picture. For example, If I were to take a picture of a beach I would want the ocean to come out and some of the sand part to come out as well, I would use a wide-angle lens in that case.
Depth of Field- Length between two objects that give judged to be focused in a camera.
Light- The amount of light controls most of these other definition like exposure etc.
Shadows- The amount of shadow depends on the amount of light.
Diffusion- Process of softening detail in a print with a diffusion disk or other material that scatters light.
Exposure- Amount of light that is allowed to be captured while taking a picture.
Aperture- Measures the size of the lens opening.
Shutter Speed- Length of time a camera shutter is open and exposes light into the camera sensor.
ISO- Level of sensitivity of your camera to available light.

Lens Flare-
1.
http://www.lightstalking.com/lens-flare
22. I read about lens flare, what it is and its history. I looked at many photos that were taken with the lens flare effect.
33. I learned that lens flare was avoided by photographers back then, because it ruined the pictures according to them. I learned that lens flare is basically light scattered from the lens due to unplanned reflection and lens impurities. Now photographers actually use it to make pictures look cool and creative with the lens flare effect.
44. This is my favorite picture for this website..

33. Well when you think of landscapes you think of all the color for example the green on a mountain or the blue of the sea. I never thought landscapes would actually look good in black and white. Whenever I take pictures of nature I never use the black and white filters on Instagram but now looking at these pictures they actually look really good! So I guess I learned that landscapes really look as creative in b&w than in normal color.

Magazines Part 2
1. Early Magazine Covers:
Early magazine covers really don't look like covers from today. They don't look like covers at all actually. The cover was usually used for the title and table of contents. Sometimes the covers were set up like book covers. They didn't really have words explaining what the magazine would be about and only contained publication information. Most of them had small pictures as well. Later in the years the Early Magazine Covers, were improved and set up a little differently.
2. The Poster Cover:
The poster covers were obviously poster like, over sized posters. Famous illustrators work was printed on the cover and sometimes inside the magazine as well. Sometimes the pictures that were on the cover really didn't relate to what the magazine was about. At first, cover lines were not used frequently, but later in the years, cover lines became an important part of cover design.
3. Pictures Married To Type:
As the years went on cover lines were becoming common and useful with all magazines. A couple improvements were made though and new styles were discovered. A large title started to be used and sometimes the model would overlap part of the title. Models were used more too, nearly full body pose. The number of cover lines started to increase on the cover. The cover lines mostly are about the people who contributed on making the cover/ magazine. A description was not yet used until about the 1960's. The cover also included the name of the month.
4. In the Forest of Words:
Going into the 21'st century, cover lines were important just as cover art was. Cover lines even started to be larger than the magazines name itself. Poster covers/ magazines with no cover lines or just a few have become hard to find. The cover lines even overlapped the model or portrait that was on the cover. Over the years the number of cover lines on a cover have increased to inform the buyer on what the magazine will be about.

W, Sept. 2011: "The Fashion Issue"
(Photograph by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott)
For W's biggest fashion issue of the year, the magazine celebrated the ways women today transform themselves by showcasing actress Kristen Stewart as readers had never seen her before. Photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot transformed the 21-year-old cover model from the Twilight teenager that audiences know best into the glamorous, grown-up vixen she's becoming. "Vampires are a little dangerous—and we girls like to test ourselves," Stewart says playfully on the cover, tempting readers to pick up the issue and see for themselves.
I choose this fashion cover as my favorite. I really like the way fashion magazines make there covers and the portraits they use. To me the portraits are beautiful and unique like this one. They catch my attention which is good. Its mostly the face of the model and shows all her features like her eyes, lips and eyebrows. For my self portrait or portrait I would like to take a picture like this one. The light and exposure are really good on this portrait. I guess you can say this portrait is formal or informal since its more fashion-y. In my opinion this would have been the magazine cover of the year 2012.

Favorite Pictures of the Year 2012
This one was one of my favorites because the Gangnam style dance was big in 2012. |
I liked this one because its a weird picture and makes me wonder how that roller coaster got in the ocean? |
This one is my favorite, it was a big moment in 2012 when president Obama got re-elected. |
1. What was the best song of 2012?
In my opinion the best song of 2012 was "A Thousand Years " part 2 by Christina Perri featuring Steve Kazee. The song had already came out about a year ago but this year they made it into an amazing duet. The song comes out in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn part 2. The song is beautiful.
2. What was the best movie of 2012?
The Vow was my favorite movie of 2012. There might have been better movies but in my opinion that was the best movie. The Vow is a romantic comedy that came out on Valentines Day. I think its a wonderful movie because what happened in it is based on a story that happened in real life with a real couple.
3. What was the most important news story of the year?
The Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. It is a recent tragedy that happened. The kids that died did not deserve what happened. There were many heroes in that situation though, several teachers gave up there lives for the children by hiding them and saving there life's. Rip to all the people who lost there lives they will always be in our hearts.
4. Who was the most important person of 2012?
There were so many important people in 2012, but I decided to choose one of my favorite singers which is Adele. She got to have her big shot in 2012 with her first hit song "Someone Like You". She is a very unique and talented person. She is a very strong woman as well and writes about true feelings and that is why I picked her.
